BOSTON BEARS

About the Artist

Miniatures have fascinated me since childhood, and the ability to faithfully and accurately reproduce the proportions of a large creature such as a polar bear on a very small scale, stretching the limits of the fiber medium to its limits, it something I continually strive toward.

I have always enjoyed working with my hands, undertaking crafts such as sewing, knitting, crochet, basketmaking, oil painting, drawing, medical illustration, jewelry making, needle-felting and more recently tatting and Turkish oya lace making.  I also use my hands in my occupation as an orthopaedic surgeon.

It is my hope that you will enjoy viewing these creations, and perhaps be persuaded to try some of these techniques yourself!

Proceeds from the sale of these items fund my humanitarian pediatric surgical trips to the Republic of Georgia.
